Good progress in July! Yay!
Originally, I planned to finish all the story script before starting on the programming and artwork. But if I want to meet this year's update schedule, I must start the art and programming work now. Thus Act 3 work will be postponed until next year.
The current plan is to complete the test version of Act 2 ~November. Ideally, I aim to release Act 2 before December arrives. And before the release, I will launch a Steam page and prepare a PV for TROT! Ughhh there's still a lot to do...
I initially planned to launch the TROT crowdfunding campaign in 2024 -- due to time and energy constraints, it will also have to be postponed until next year.
This year's update will be the last free update for TORT, featuring a substantial amount of content (yes it's A LOT). And then it's the Steam release! (I haven't decide the final price yet lol, any ideas?)
The dev-workload for Act 2 feels about 3 times that of Act 1. At the time of release, I will also hire a professional English editor to refine the localization and a composer to create original music for TROT (90% of the music in the Steam version will be replaced with original tracks!). So, please look forward to it!
When I released Act 1, I thought the demo storyline was weak. Now working on Act 2, I feel that the Act 1 storyline is basically nothing compare to Act 2 lol...
A side note, my life will be quite busy in August and September. Compared to the previous months, my dev-time will be roughly halved, leading to slower progress. My goal is to complete all the artwork by the end of September, which includes approximately 40-50 CGs and around 30 mini-CGs. Seeing these numbers makes me feel like I'm going crazy...!!!!
-- The storyline for Act 2 is VERY exciting, and all these CGs will be worth it! I think Act 1 + Act 2 will be ~230k words.
Let's finish this devlog by sharing a sneak peak for Act2's CG draft... (Don't look too close b/c *spoilers alert*)
