charEdit v1.2 is out now!

Hi all,

The latest version of charEdit, charEdit v1.2 is now released and available for free on our itch.io page. charEdit is a free browser and windows-based ASCII image editor and viewer. Even though the title suggests ASCII, the application technically uses unicode encoding for text manipulation.

The application lets you create, edit, view, load and export, now in two different formats, your ASCII art as text files. Additionally, the new version of the program also boasts many new feature its predecessor lacked. Some of these are:

• Export as array option
• Undo/Redo functionality
• More screen-fill options
• CopyRow and PasteRow abilities
• Keyboard shortcuts
• Consistent theme throughout the program

I'm sure these features will help people more easily use the application to create meaningfull ASCII artworks. The next major update of the application will include:

• Different fonts and font sizes.
• More themes and colours.
• (And hopefully) Mouse-based drawing.
