Build 8: Depth

Build 8: Depth is here!

Having chosen to embrace a darker path, Alex walks the Blackzones divested of his inhibitions. Now, Byte's concern for his wellbeing begins shifting to suspicion as Alex struggles to remain human in the face of his fear and his wrath. Whatever he becomes, when Illayla's entire fate suddenly hangs in the balance, he decides to take drastic action which will set everyone on the path to the end.

I didn't expect this update to be quite as content heavy as it turned out to be! Build 8 is finally here, and with it the story descends into darker themes, so expect a good dose of horror on day 10 (which, believe me, is only the gentle warm-up for what's still to come). All the extra content on this build wouldn't have been possible without everyone who has donated to the project and KoFi, so now you really get to see the impact it can have!

This was a particularly dense build, so I gotta give a massive shout-out to Ortho and Sam for their proof-reading and editing - they really work tirelessly to make a huge difference to the final versions of these updates!

So what's in this update?

• Day 10 has been added, sitting at about 28,500 words. Saves should carry over, but you can start from the beginning and use the day select option that appears to skip straight to the new day.
• 2 fantastic new sprites have been added by Elle! Both of these feature on the new day.
• Around 13 CGs by Sidmon, who has very actively contributed to the overall development of this build with ideas and suggestions. You'll see for yourself how he's impacted the narrative with his work!
• Plenty of new audio! As always, for the best experience, play with the sound on and with headphones!
• Another preview of Soulcreek's OST! One of the tracks is featured, though you'll only hear about half the full song. The entire OST will be released with Build 10. 
• Tonnes of new backgrounds (about 35). These are all public domain images taken from pixabay, however a few were also photographed and donated by someone from our discord server, Drake Ventus Frater! A huge thanks to them!

CONTENT WARNING - DAY 10 CONTAINS SCENES OF HORROR AND VIOLENCE.

As Soulcreek enters its final builds, these scenes will have a stronger visual depiction. Read at your own risk. There is no NSFW content in this build, so there is nothing that needs censoring for the sake of YouTube or Twitch.
