Creation of exotic weapons

The forge of weapons in Otaidokan is an ancient art that has evolved over the centuries. The  katana is considered the pinnacle of weapon technology, but there are other less common weapons created by lesser-known smiths, handed down through the generations or brought by Panda ships from foreign lands. These weapons are often unique and only their users really know how to use them. The more traditional samurai will view with distaste anyone who seeks to use them in combat.

A player may choose an exotic weapon as an inheritance option. Decide its general appearance and create it according to the following rules:

  • A weapon has a default damage of 2. 
  • It has one type, one range, one virtue, one appearance and one flaw. It can have another range, aspect, virtue or type by adding another flaw. 
  • Range: melee, close range, ranged (not good in melee).
  • Type: blade (+1 damage), blunt (ignores armour), polearm (short range, requires two hands), rope/chain (can be used to capture without damage).
  • Virtue: stealthy, honourable, fast, resilient.
  • Flaw: Weak (-1 damage), impossible to conceal, fragile, large (slow, requires two hands).
  • Appearance: ornate, old, new, dirty.
