So it was towards the of June when Andy and I decided to bring Nixy and the Seeds of Doom to C64. I was still working on Amiga version of Shift back then. I focused on finishing it while Andy started on the C64 version of the game map.
Well, Shift Amiga is finally done, and I can get started on Nixy 2.
Andy has already made a lot of progress with the artwork. The first pass at level design is done. He is having a go at the sprites now.
Code-wise, I have started with Ooze as the base. There was no jumping in Ooze; it flipped between the floor and ceiling, which wasn't very useful for Nixy. I have removed the flip code, and added the jumping code from Shift.
The level loader is working too:
This is going to be a much more complex game than Ooze. Memory will be definitely be tight. This will be a challenge...wish us luck!
