R-BRT
World building and Lore through props.
Hello everyone! I’m back and super excited for R-BRT. Today I will be talking about the props and how they tie into the lore and story of the game. In R-BRT’s game you run into two other bots pretty similar to you and S-4M, they however are dead. I will be going over the two bots starting with design and ending with what they contribute to the lore.
One model is called C-3NR. He is a robot who was built to vacuum. Humanity got tired of vacuuming, so they just built his model. He was designed with a container that he uses to store all the junk he sucks up. As you can tell he’s degraded a lot since the vacuums were not designed to last long and were replaced every ten years. He is painted yellow like the cleaning warning signs we have today. This is to make sure you watch out for him in his work. He has a bucket on his head to appear friendly to kids. That way they wouldn’t be scared if they saw him.
The other robots found are the W-2T3R bot. He is used as a fire hydrant programed to help till rescue bots are called in. His arms are fire extinguishers making him perfect for the first line of defense during a fire. They are programmed to find people near a fire and keep them alive through putting the fires out. When all humans escape, they will continue to put out the fire. He has a water pack on his back with a hose coming out so he can spray water. He can also spray water out of his mouth. He sits on a seat attached to the wall as if it is his bed. He will be located on a wall like our modern-day fire hydrants except he is alive, positioned up high to help detect fires sooner, and will self-activate. W-2T3R is colored like a fire fighter. He is painted yellow with brown stripes. This makes him easy to spot in a crisis. He’s built roundly to look friendly as the makers didn’t want him to scare the kids. He was made to last a lot longer than the C-3NR robots, but still deprecated sooner with overuse.
The story elements they bring are a warning. R-BRT’S friend also has the same black splotches as them showing he’s about to die. They are a reminder of S-4M’s fate to the player. They also show how most robots just continued with their jobs even after being sentient. S-4M still uses his scanners as they were made, R-BRT still uses his stealth bot programming even after his injury which was a result of a terrible accident. The ones you see chose to stay like the ground bots even to the point of dying there. They did this because they loved this place.
