v0.4 Release

Roll for the Gods
A browser game made in HTML5

Version 0.4 is uploaded and available.

One of the bigger changes is that I’ve added music. This has increased the file size quite a bit and is particularly noticeable with the WebGL build. I went back and forth on it, but since I can only upload one browser build per page, I decided to keep the music in.

One thing to mention about v0.4 is that it marks the conclusion of the introduction/demo content. I’m planning that future content will require you to buy the game, so I wanted to at least mention my plans going forward:

The demo will remain available and may receive minor content updates. But otherwise, the “full game” will require purchase, with updates coming to itch.io. I do intend to put the game on Steam when it is completed, but that is likely a way off.

Patch Notes

Content:

  • Built further on Selky Pint arc.
  • Added to Saint and Intelligence secondary arcs.

New Features:

  • Music
  • Minor UI SFX

Balance changes:

  • Gold rewards now scale down as you have more gold.
    • This means parallel paths (i.e. Arena and Selky Pint) will not stack up as high and you'll be set to Solvent (1 / 10) if you were above that.
    • Explanation: This hits more what I'm thematically hoping to achieve with "wealth levels." The idea is that when you hit certain levels of wealth, it takes bigger jobs to make a difference in your financial situation.
