Hello Cicadas!
Wil here, bringing a new update on Hope. Today we're glad to announce a new build called "Look alive" focused mainly on polish.
In the last 6 months we have been working hard on improving the art to make it consistent throughout the game. That included a redesign in two main areas of the spaceship, supply room and server room; a new design for the electricity panel, and a revamped launchpad and lift off cutscene.
The build was very intense in artwork. Designing new scenes its not an easy feat for me because I'm not an artist. However, I'm relatively satisfied with the result. Also, UI is HARD but I think I got a decent result with the new holoscreens in the consoles of the Main Deck. Below are some screenshots so you can see the end result (although you should try the demo, they look better when animated 😉).
We also added a few new poses for the NPCs. These are not animations yet, just static poses but hopefully can help us make the conversations feel more alive and dynamic.
Again, we spent a lot of time on fixing bugs and making sure the gameplay was as smooth as possible. Still a lot to do but progress is progress, am I right? Here are some of the most important bugs we squashed in this build:
Another strong build in terms of polish and bug fixes. The art is coming together and the game is definitely feeling a bit more alive than the previous release (hence the name of the build 😜).
