Next Fest Update: Music, 5 Endings added, Journal System, New Encounters
It's that time of year again - Broke Signal Badlands is here for the Summer Next Fest! I've been hard at work cooking a new update for y'all, which is available here for paid players, and temporarily for free on Steam as part of Next Fest.
A very big and very cool update for Broke Signal Badlands is now available:
Music!
- Added a full soundtrack, with 7 unique tracks! More will be coming as we push updates. You can hear one in the new trailer above:
Gameplay Changes:
- Added Journaling system: Players now have the option to reflect on their days/nights before camping. This has an interesting effect on your camping experience and the ending you get, depending on what you think about most in the journal.
- Added new Camping transitions, based on your Journal choices.
- Added 5 new endings (and Discoveries for each), based on your Journal choices. See if you can get them all!
Map Changes
- Added 4 new random encounters. Go find them!
- Added road, highway, and region names, for easier navigation around the map.
- Added map boundaries, for those persistent players that try to climb out of the mountains.
- Added new icons for Encounters and Landmarks! Cacti, bushes, people, and buildings now dot the landscape.
Minor Changes
- Added a setting slider for the Music.
- Added social media links to the main menu and pause menu, for ease of contact.
- Fixed random events turning their audio off upon starting them.
- Fixed a bug related to players being able to infinitely pass events if they ran out of reroll dice.
- Fixed a few other small bugs.
