Moth-Light is well on its way to beta release and I'd like to take a moment to talk about what's in the current version as of 3/31/2019.
Intent: Moth-Light is in a playtest state. That is to say it is a completely playable experience in need of tweaking. Over the next year I plan on refining the game with a home campaign playtest and I'd love to offer free test copies to folks who are also interested in playtesting the game or simply providing their own feedback on the material as written. I'm not asking for editing here, just impressions. Get in touch.
What's There: All of the systems needed to play the game are intact. The playbooks and pact-sheet is also in a playable state. A recent addition to the rules includes a list of agendas and principles I feel will be invaluable to the practical experience of playing the game and I plan to follow that addition up with some direction for the GM and players that should help them run a campaign.
What's Next: Before the game enters its beta state, I would very much like to expand upon the lore of Moth-Light.
We have disparate clans struggling for survival on an alien jungle alive with the calls of creatures simultaneously strange an familiar.
We have The Twilight, rimmed in radioactive sunlight, caught in an eternal ellipse, that encompasses all the clans have ever known.
We have an ancient global network that allows humanity to connect wirelessly with the spirit realm and exert their control over auger devices.
And we have the Moths: indomitable predators capable of interplanetary flight.
Over the next year I intend to paint the text with this imagery and bring Moth-Light to life. Will you join me?
