Gloaming Emanations is a 2d Hack and slash game. The goal is to defend the castle gates from an onslaught of tentacles using melee and magic combat and survive until morning. The horde does not wait for you ever, falling behind on slaying enemy's and destroying spawn points will only lead to your inevitable defeat. Gloaming Emanations features both Single player and local Multiplayer modes.
Survive until the moon passes over the horizon and ensure the gate lives to see the next day.
Upon launching the game players will be presented with a title screen. Through here you have the option to select either Singleplayer or Multiplayer, as well as the option to adjust the volume.
Once players have selected a mode they will load into the game and be presented a couple of important things as per the screenshot below.
On the top left is the players Health, Mana and Shield Stamina. Behind those UI elements is the Gate the player will need to defend. The brown bar on the top middle of the screen is the health bar for the gate. In the middle of the screen is the player themselves which can be controlled with the controls above.
In the next image the player has moved over to another area where there are some more important mechanics. There hole in the ground with purple is a spawner. Spawners can be destroyed by standing ontop of them for a short period. These will periodically spawn enemy's, one of which can be seen to the right of it. The brown mound is a tentacle which is currently burrowed underground but making its way over to the player, they cannot be hit while burrowed.
The next image has a Tentacle that has emerged from underground to attack the player who is ready to block the hit. Occasionally a red circle can appear below players, this is to indicate a spike attack will emerge shortly on the location, as the attack comes from below players will not be able to block it and instead must move out of the way. Another feature is the moon in the background, it will move across the stage starting from the right and heading over to the left. Once it reaches all the way to the left and off the screen a victory screen will play.
