Hi! I'm extraordinarily excited to announce that Songs for the Dusk will be having its 1.0 release on Friday, June 14, 2024! This has been a long time coming, and I'm supremely excited to finally present this version of the game.
It's also worth mentioning, briefly, that we had a minor change in staffing (for lack of a better word); Caro wound up not having availability for the work, but I was able to get the help of Minerva McJanda, an extremely prolific game designer and a virtual savant at layout. Here's a quick look at Mina and Yuri's combined efforts:
You can expect this level of quality for every single one of the game's sheets, as well as the two quickstarts in it. I'm still blown away by how good this PDF looks.
Daybreak, the first expansion, is largely complete, but needs a bit more text in addition to some art and layout. I'm hoping to lock down a late-summer release, though as a reminder you are welcome to join the Discord to access an alpha copy of the playbooks right now.
After that, I'm going to be focusing for a while on Sunblack, a Sparked by Resistance game about queer psychic freaks smuggling their fellow freaks into an interdimensional city and away from the exploitative arms of US intelligence agencies. I'm looking forward to developing that.
I've long promised a Nightfall expansion for SFTD as well — it'll be secondary to Sunblack once Daybreak is finished, so I can't promise any kind of timeline, but I have some loose concepting for it and I'm sure before long I'll wind up craving my old game and setting once again.
I don't have a ton more to say! Please look forward to the game; it's better than it's ever been.
