Indeed, it seems I haven't logged an update on the progress of Melon Head. And I guess the pace of development has (again) slowed down a bit. But progress is nonetheless made.
I think Chapter 3 took more time than its predecessors since it had more rooms and a maze puzzle at the end. All that meant lots of new graphics! The amount of rooms is double compared to chapters 1 and 2. Which is probably good news for any interested players.
Last week I reached the halfway point of Chapter 4! I'm glad about that. I've got the rest of the chapter planned and all I got to do is execute it. After that it's only the last chapter left, which I predict will take less work than the previous ones, since it doesn't require as much new graphics or music.
The 4th chapter will lead Melon Head beyond the veil to a gloomy town of dead souls with perpetual rain. Melon Head's wits are put to the test in a world where the logic of life and death are turned topsy-turvy!
One great hinderance for working on the game right now is summer time. It's warm outside, finally, and people are about wanting to enjoy life. I'm glad I can join them after the bleakness and cold of winter. I even feel compelled to do so or at least get my ass outside on the lonesome. But it too shall pass. And I find myself grinding on the game anyway so what am I even talking about.
My plan is to start extensive testing after I have the last chapter drawn and scripted but that's still some months away, I'm sure.
Anyway, thanks for reading! If you read this you must be awesome! Have a nice day!
