Update 0.1.76 Heals, Base, & Grenades
Hey y'all! In this update, we've made significant strides in optimizing performance and enhancing gameplay. Our focus has shifted to a single map and a single mode: survival extraction, allowing us to concentrate our efforts and deliver a richer experience. Here are the key changes and improvements:
- Map and Gameplay Adjustments:
- Reduced the game to one map: Old City, for focused development.
- Disabled the tractor temporarily.
- Added an escape point at the police car blockade.
- Performance Improvements:
- Implemented dynamic culling for distant zombies.
- Moved zombie path calculations to a separate thread for better performance.
- Gameplay Enhancements:
- Added spacing between zombies to avoid single-file chases.
- Converted the tractor health bar into the player health bar.
- Fixed the screen blood effect when the player gets hit.
- Increased player durability by allowing one extra hit from zombies.
- Added a small invincibility window after getting hit to prevent multiple hits.
- Adjusted zombie initialization to resolve animation sticking issues.
- Modified the starting area and civilian escape points.
- Moved the base location back slightly.
- New Features:
- Added medkit usage, heal with "H" key or RB button on gamepad.
- Introduced grenade pickups.
- Early base building prototype added: build another floor for $1,000.
- Added gamepad vibrations for getting hit, shooting, and other interactions.
- Visual and Lighting Adjustments:
- Adjusted lighting for a darker setting.
- All guns now have active flashlights with bigger lights.
- Added more streetlights for better visibility.
- Bug Fixes:
- Resolved a bug where lost match time cash was also emptying the checking account.
- Adjusted player_look joystick sensitivity and damping.
- Fixed the bug where SMG and AR were swapped.
- Corrected weapon base stats, addressing the slow AR fire rate.
