In 1.8 myself and some players had an issue with how acquiring abilities kind of betray's the fiction of DAWN and its inspirations (shonen battle manga). Though the uniqueness abilities can have feels accurate, the fact that players can, and should if they want to be optimal, gain many small abilities of little consequence betrays the image of characters with singular unique abilities often shown in DAWN's inspirations. For this reason, 1.9 will have each character start with a single powerful ability with an expanded evolution and ability altering system for the rest of the game.
This change is simple on its own, but it also requires reworking the many Boons that change how Abilities are acquired, so stay tuned on plenty of new and reworked Boons!
