Outside of game design, I had a set of horror radio drama cassette tapes I ordered come in the mail today. Listening to them lets my brain relax and have fun with my imagination. I often listen to music while working on my game, SERIZAWA. But lately, I’ve been listening to these tapes. I am currently on the first tape, “THE HAUNTING HOUR.”
My fondness for old media, like VHS tapes and cassette tapes, comes from the memories of browsing through video rental stores like Blockbuster. It was what I grew up with. With cassette tapes, I mostly cared about blank ones as a kid. I liked to record myself doing random fake talk radio shows or saying curse words.
I became interested in radio drama horror only recently after listening to one called “The Thing on the Fourble Board.” Which I found on YouTube and was from a recommendation Sandy Peterson made in one of his videos.
