Hey folks! Hope everyone's having an awesome week! Just wanted to drop an update on some new additions to the War of the Pips. Do check it out below:
The world of War of the Pips was so fun to create, it was hard to know when to stop. once the map was finished, my mind kept exploring places beyond its borders, and I knew I needed to put it down somewhere. What resulted was a collection of bookmarks and postcards that are filled with mini-maps, landmarks, and quests.
These were inspired by the road maps made by a John Ogilby, who used to make these long vertical road maps for coach drivers to follow when they were riding outside of London. I thought it was such a cool and unique piece of history that I wanted to iterate on. I came across it thanks to a writer/creator named K.M. Alexander, who has made some amazing photoshop brush assets from old maps. They're free on his website and I highly recommend checking them out!
I also added some postcards to assist players during a session. These include quick reference cards for food/ingredients, potions, and weapons mechanics. There are also two interactive PDF cards for horses and houses. These can be used on your PC or other device to fill out!
I plan on continuing to continue growing these tools to further ease playing the game. One item I have in mind is what I'm calling a combat circle. This would be a coaster-sized piece that will be handed around the table to show who's turn it is. On it will have important data about the enemies and perhaps some other rules to assist in play. Keep an eye out for those.
Last one, a small addition, I've uploaded a second copy of the core rulebook in single page format. Though I believe the game should be experienced and read as two-page spreads, I wanted to give this option as well in case people may wish to use the PDF on a device more suitable for single page viewing.
That's it for now, thank you so much for checking out this update!
Till next time,
Vince
