NEW BROWSER SUPPORT!
Yes, you heard that right! Echoes of Continuity is now additionally available to play on browser on the itch page itself! It's still highly recommended that you download the game, however, for the best gameplay experience.
Known Issue: Joysticks for controllers do not work for navigating up and down in menus on the browser build. This is unfortunately a Unity moment, and a known bug in their bug tracker system that's just not fixed.
Alternatively, keyboard and D-Pad works to navigate menus in the browser build, so you can still navigate the menus through those input methods... just annoying that this is the case.
New Additions
Gameplay
- New Special Attacks! Press Left Trigger (Controller) or Right Mouse Button (Keyboard & Mouse) to perform this powerful attack!
- Each character has their own unique special attack, and some are even affected by item abilities!
- These attacks, while powerful, have cooldowns attached to them, so use them sparingly
- Projectiles now destroy other projectiles!
- Depending on the projectile, and who shot it, there could be a slim chance that one of the projectiles may not get destroyed in the interaction. It’s a rare occasion though, so nice job if you get that rare occurrence!
- The chance of the player's projectile breaking can be influenced by the luck stat
Items
- New Common Items!
- Vial of Venom: Gain a 5% chance to drop a vial and spawn a lingering venomous puddle that poisons enemies
- Beating Heart: Increases max health by 10 HP
- Malleable Amber: Decreases chance of any projectile getting destroyed by 10%
- New Uncommon Items!
- Bottled Tempest: Gain a 5% chance to summon a chain lightning bolt (+1 target per stack)
- Madam Briar: Deals damage back to enemies within a 5 metre radius when damaged (+2 metres per stack)
- Blood Eye: Siphons 2 HP per hit on an enemy
- New Rare Items!
- Collapsed Star: Decrease your special attack cooldown by 2 seconds
- Molten Core: Gain a 10% chance for enemies to burst into flames when killed
Audio
- Explosives and Crawlers now have explosion sounds when they explode
- Bottled Tempest has an electric shock sound
- Sinister Hook now has a 'whipping' sound
Art
- Sinister Rope now has a 'wobble effect' that can be seen on the rope as it is shot at an enemy
Changes
Gameplay
- Any character, item, enemy, debuff, or projectile that deals with strength, armor, health and healing factor has been buffed
- The luck stat has been improved to be more effective in functionality
Audio
- Blackened Fate and Echoes soundtrack has been revamped
- Sven's slingshot sound effects have been changed
- Player sound effects no longer turn down the music when they go off
Art
- Character Select: Name of character has been moved to top of the character window. Arrows have been added to either side of the name to indicate being able to switch characters
- Complete UI and Projectile Art revamp! Borders on UI and projectiles have been removed for consistency reasons
- The HUD design has been redone visually as well
- Textures for the XP orbs, Sinister Rope, Precision Lens, Regenerative Newt, Offweighted Warhammer, Magnet, Healing Blossom, Explosives, and the Rusty Helmet have been updated
- Controls for right and left trigger/bumper have been renamed to RT, LT, RB, LB (as opposed to R1, R2, L1, L2)

Kurt
- Max health increased from 20 to 70
- Strength increased from 4 to 12
- Armor increased from 2 to 4
- Healing factor increased from 2 to 5
Dianthine
- Max health increased from 30 to 100
- Strength increased from 3 to 10
- Crit chance lowered from 10% to 7.5%
- Armor increased from 1 to 3
- Healing factor increased from 1 to 3
Athene
- Max health increased from 25 to 85
- Strength increased from 5 to 15
- Armor increased from 1 to 4
- Healing factor increased from 1 to 4
Sven
- Max health increased from 15 to 50
- Strength increased from 0 to 5
- Luck increased from 7 to 10
- Armor increased from 1 to 2
- Healing factor increased from 1 to 2
Vergo
- Max health increased from 25 to 85
- Strength increased from 4 to 8
- Armor increased from 3 to 7
- Healing factor increased from 1 to 3
- Move speed increased from 2 to 2.5
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where Vergo's shield didn't block enemy projectiles
- Removed "Character Selected" text from the top part of character select window
- Fixed a bug where Sinister Rope hook was rotated incorrectly in respect to the rope
- Fixed a bug where difficulty modifier still incremented on game paused, and enemies still spawned while paused
- Fixed item light to be visible in-game
- Fixed common item light colour inconsistencies
- Fixed a bug where enemies had a chance to still spawn on the rebirth/inheritance screen
- Fixed a visual issue where pixels of the next scene could be seen on the borders of Character Select and loading screen
- Fixed armor stat, as it was previously ineffective and useless
- Fixed a bug with ferocity stat not properly increasing crit damage
- Fixed a bug where certain mechanics that shouldn't be affected by the time slow effect were affected by the time slow effect
- Fixed a bug where enemies could get wedged between Vergo and her shield, leading to unfair defeats
- Fixed a bug where the item infobox remained on screen at times
- Several code optimizations to improve performance
