NEW VERSION - A Game Card for GDC
A personal tradition of mine is to make a new playable business card every year for GDC (the Game Developers Conference). Last year I made AWAY and printed 250 game cards to give away. This year I made a new version of Bookworm!
I printed 500 cards and handed them out mostly to other writers or fans of narrative games that I met throughout the week. The game had a great reception and a few people immediately pulled out a pen to start drawing and creating their own bookworm to take care of. Those moments are what game dev is all about. Seeing a single player’s face light up... it fills my heart with wholesome, squishy feelings haha
At the end of my trip, I went to Alameda Sports Cards and Comics to find a few treasures to bring back to Montreal. After chatting a bit with the owner about GDC, she let me leave 50 cards at the register for locals to pick up for free.
