Hey everyone!
I'm going to need to update the release date estimate again so I figured it would be a good idea to write a post about it, as I know it can be discouraging to see the date getting pushed back repeatedly and not everyone is in my discord to hear me talking about what I'm doing live. My plan for the release is to have a free demo that includes the entire Elf Kingdom, and then have the paid version release with the kingdom of Fracture unlockable and several additional characters to be available. The original plan was that my programmer would get up to the elf kingdom done, then teach me how to implement additional worlds and characters so that I could do it myself for the other characters.
Things were thrown off a bit when my programmer got sick earlier. He was able to finish the demo, but now he's rather far behind on his own project and needs to focus on it for a bit and was only able to to write up some cliffnotes on how the project works, leaving me to need to learn the project on my own instead.
I had expected to be able to get the new version finished by the end of the month with my programmer's guidance, but without it, I'm more or less stumbling around in the dark trying to figure things out. This is not to badmouth my programmer at all, of course, it's important that they get their own work done, and I appreciate that they prioritized finishing the demo after getting sick set them back.
Anyways, I and a friend of mine are currently going through the project trying to figure it out and will hopefully have enough figured out soon to start adding characters. I think though, at the pace we're figuring things out I may not have it done by late April as I previously estimated, and so I'm going to need to push the release date back again.
Hopefully this will be the last time I need to push it back. ^__^; Thank you all for your patience though.
