Hi guys!
We at Team We Ball are back with another Devlog to tell you how we've been listening to your feedback and suggestions. In this devlog we're gonna show you some ways we've incorporated your suggestions into our upcoming game E-Racer. Having your feedback has helped us out massively as working on a game as long as we have it's very easy to get tunnel vision and not realise some features that might be missing or some tweaks that may be needed for the game.
Understanding where you are facing:
One suggestion we had a lot was that players seemed confused as to which way their car was facing at a given time. In order to make this easier to understand we have positioned all the players to face towards the middle of the map when they are spawned and also we have added a laser to the barrel of your gun. This will serve as a directional arrow so the player will be able to easily tell which way they will be shooting.
Knowing when the car was picked and which car is yours?
Some players have had some confusion which is understandable when it comes to picking your car and knowing which car is yours when playing. We have added an animation which can be seen as a gif in the attachments which shows what players will see when they have selected their car. For us it can be easy to know when our car is selected as we've been through the car selection screen hundreds of time during testing! But we did notice that for new players it can be confusing to know when you have already input your chosen car.
Additionally we have also added materials to the cars so that when player with a group of friends your car colour will be the same as the colour you are assigned depending on what player you are (P1, P2, P3, P4)
