#Release Notes
I did NOT expect this update to come out this soon or be this large.
Since Enemies also have an Armour Defense stat, I started here. There's a new value called "Max Defense", that is used to calculate how much extra damage your attacks will do. THIS REPLACES THE OLD BUFF SYSTEM! So, gone is the old "Combat Triangle", and in is just simply having good equipment.
With this change, I'm going to have to rework the Buffs System as well. I've learned what happens when I try to pin down a release version, so all I'm going to say is it's "Coming Soon".
This is the other half of Armour Defense. This solution was actually a lot simpler than I was making it. Now, the higher your Armour Defense, the less damage you take.
Armour Shattering is part of the Armour Defense System for Player Attacks. Since a Mob's Armour doesn't have durability, I've added an interesting concept to fix that. When you attack, you now have a chance to "Shatter" the Enemy's Armour. This will Increase the amount of Damage you can do, as it will increase the Damage Buff you receive from the Armour Defense System.
This was simply outdated, and needed a refresh.
This was also outdated, and needed a refresh.
There's now a Tutorial for Mobile players! It will walk you through everything just like the Desktop version of the Tutorial does, but it's been tweaked to work with the larger Mobile PlayerBar.
This was a parity change for something I changed in the Mobile Tutorial.
The Combat Tutorial Has been updated to match the changes made in V0.4+.
I'll admit that this was a mistake on my part. I noticed I forgot to add Bosxix to the Boss List. He's now in there, and ready to fight.
Previously, Yilani's Staff and the Staff of the Necromancer wouldn't take durability damage for casting any spell other than "Black Strike". This has been fixed.
The opening screen is now shorter, and features the logo of "Studio 74" (That's me!). I've also started the Main Menu music when this screen begins, and it will continue uninterrupted when the Main Menu appears.
When I first added the Mine and Forest Selection Screens, I always meant to go back and tweak them. That never happened, and I quickly forgot about them. I noticed the Mine Selection wasn't lined up properly, so I fixed it then did the same for Forest Selection.
I also enabled the "Warning Label" to show which Mines and Forests have Combat in them.
Now that the Combat Triangle is history, I had to update the Equipment Selection to reflect that. So, gone is the massive wall of text explaining how each Combat Style interacts with each other. It's been replaced by a streamlined screen that shows 3 things:
Small change, more for my own sanity. The Starting Staff has been named "Cracked Staff" since it's inception, but it's texture file is named "Fractured Staff". So I switched the name to make my life easier.
I noticed that the Mobile PlayerBar was too close to the bottom of the Skill Guide for my liking. So I bumped everything on the screen up to fix that.
The old background color was the same as the PlayerBar. It's now been set to Black to match the Main Menu, since it's really an extension of that screen anyways.
