Redrift:Redux Update 0.3.1

As always, browser saves do not transfer to the new version. Old browser saves will be lost.

Hey all, in comes a new patch to clean things up before some big changes.

I'm not sure exactly what comes after this update, but it is likely that saves will break, either completely or partially due to changes to existing assets, save systems, etc, but hopefully I can end up avoiding as much save damage as possible. No promises.

Update Content

General Gameplay

  • Added a Weather system. Rain can occur, as well as storms, where lightning can occasionally strike. Lightning can damage you if it hits, or sometimes spawn rare Lightning Stones if it hits the void ocean.
  • Shrunk the player horizontally (90% smaller).
  • Added Void Geysers that can allow you to get back up to the main island if you fall off.
  • Added a new "Castle on the Hill" island. More to come later on...

Item Additions

  • 2x2 "U" Stairs
  • Half Floor
  • Auto Furnace; automatically takes items placed in front of the main port.

Item Changes

  • Furnaces no longer automatically take items, they must be interacted with to add items. This does not apply to the Auto Furnace.
  • Increased Grapple range slightly.

Audio / Visual Changes

  • Added waves to the Void Crags.
  • Added sound effects for being near the surface and below the surface of the Void Ocean.

Quality of Life

  • Added a button prompt for the inventory. This shows for 3 seconds after loading a save.
  • Resolution and Graphics settings default to more reasonable values, instead of the lowest possible.
  • Added a Tickrate setting to adjust Physics Tickrate. This can make the game feel smoother, but at the cost of performance.

Backend

  • Added Save Age and Seed
