Some of my Patreons asked me why I created the game in different engines.
The answer is simple actually. The reason I make A Shard's Tale, is because I plan on making more than one (A)VN. I have about 7 shelved and I want an engine that is both easy to create the games I want in and be one environment for all the games.
The why is: To make a story that comes across.
The how is: In an environment that doesn't give me too much hassle when wanting to add something.
The what is: Any Adult Visual Novel I have envisioned.
After 'A Shard's Tale Pt. 1', depending on the reception, there will be part 2, but possibly I do a small detour to either Frost Bite or Grass Hopper (full AVN).
This is why I am creating the framework in Unity, because I am, for the last 10+ years, a Unity/C# developer. Ren'Py is great, but it requires both a new learning curve and it limits my possibilities to quickly make what I want.
So stay tuned.
