Gillnets, new plants and fish, food preservation with salt, bandages, Project Möbius
X-SurvivorA downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Dear all,
Below are the latest updates to the game. Similar to last year, I am taking a break from X-Survivor to continue work on my 3D game, Project Möbius. I expect to return to X-Survivor in a few months. If you find any bugs, please let me know and I will try to fix them as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Christian
Updates since the last devlog message:
- Salt can now be crafted from sea water and found in caves. It can be used to preserve meat (in addition to smoking).
- Changed how hunger is displayed in order to distinguish between being sated and having a full stomach (having a stomach full of water is obviously different from being sated).
- New plants/lichen: lamb's quarters, common purslane, big sagebrush, bog rosemary and old man's beard (the latter for tinder).
- Added bandage (craftable from cotton patches) to treat bleeding wounds.
- Added new types of fish: herring, silver hake and minnow.
- Mosquito repellent (skin treatment) can now be crafted from bog rosemary.
- Funnel basket fish trap can now be used without bait. Bait is still useful as it increases the chances of catching fish.
- Added craftable gillnets with small and large meshes.
- Re-balanced the code for weight gain, making it easier to increase BMI and muscle mass.
- Darker ocean colors for deep ocean.
Bug fixing:
- It was possible to catch mice with a fishing rod in shallow waters.
- All items could be smoked (for instance rocks), smoking happened instantaneously and the meat would often burn in a smoking rack.
- Crafting recipes would sometimes be shown in dark grey even if they could be crafted.
- Partially crafted items could be used as components of other crafting recipes.
- Unloading an item from a container would sometimes leave the item in the container.
- Text log sometimes gave wrong name to item when it did not fit in a container.
- Game would crash when trying to grab from an empty menu.
