hi! while playing with a friend on his computer, i encountered an error where the game was going way too fast, because it was running at 120 fps (there's an fps counter toggle under graphics settings). for reference, on the laptop i coded the thing on, it runs at 60. 60 is the goal here.
i'm pretty sure there's nothing i can do about this kind of thing. tried looking for solutions but as it turns out in most cases people actually prefer higher fps in games! but just know that if your game is running at super speed you are playing on hard mode i guess! because it makes the animatronics A.) move faster and B.) kill you faster. there's always a risk of other unexpected behavior, of course. i certainly can't beat it going that fast, though i'm also not actually that good at my own game, lol. normally this game is kind of really easy.
perils of using an rpg maker from 2 decades ago to make your five nights at freddy's fangame i suppose.

on another note, i've realized that the way you deal with animatronic encounters isn't super well explained to the players. hindsight is 20/20. sometime when i'm less consumed by schoolwork, etc. i'm currently planning on a small update that includes after-death tip screens as a band-aid to this issue.
in the meantime (and look away if you don't want to be spoiled, i guess) this is how you avoid being killed:
