L.A.B. Crawler Mechnicians v1.0

Hi there, fellow mechnicians.

I am proud to announce a HUGE update to L.A.B. Crawler Mechnicians with this official version 1.0 release of the game! It’s been a long-time coming, and it’s finally here! Woohoo!

Not only have I given the game a fancy new visual aesthetic, but I have totally revamped the gameplay as well. I have tinkered and mulled over the game on and off since I first released it, and it really is one of my favourite little games I have made. And I think the game’s in a really good place with this new update!

I have also added a text-only version of the game so you can read about the game to help you decide if you want to buy it or not, and an animated card-flip preview on the game’s page. Read more below!

The big things:

• New animated card preview on the game’s page! You can preview what the game’s card will look like once printed and cut out as a card; simply hover your mouse over the card on the game’s page to check out both sides of it! (I’m using some CSS magic there to get those animations happening. Check out some of my other microgames for similar previews!)
• New visual aesthetic on the card! Yes, it’s still grey to keep the same style… but I’m not opposed to exploring some colour additions later on perhaps…
• New gameplay! Span the wire of your multitool across the Maintenance Hub’s anchor points to gain some control over the randomness of the dice.
• More playable! New help text and tips on the card to help players understand how to play more easily.

The new gameplay should feel similar to the older version, but with the new “Maintenance Hub” system on the back of the card (that big ol’ cog-wheel thingy), and additional instructions for how players should use the multitool, the game should be much more playable and interesting now.

So, I hope you enjoy this big update, and your trek across the inhospitable ice planet Bo’reus.
