March round-up

OBSCURA - Chapter One: The Descent
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Hello hello!

Yesterday was a red day here in Sweden, so we enjoyed a fairly low-key April Fools’ that doubled as the two year anniversary of the release of Flamebait Dating Sim. It’s hard to believe we’ve been at this for two years, and we’re so grateful to that game for getting us together like this.

And what about what we did in March? Well, I finally got to work on Obscura again and it is impossible to describe how good that felt! I got a nice chunk of Keir’s route done and I can say with confidence that I am now in the home stretch of his route, thank goodness. I also got to implement the NPC sprites that Mugi made and they are an absolute delight.

What will they be used for? You’ll just have to find out!

Tobi fucking wrecked shop in March, pushing a massive chunk of Cirrus’ route. We can safely say that Cirrus’ Chapter 2 is going to have about double the word count of Cirrus’ Chapter One, due to all the variations of some key scenes based on player choices and also a little extra mechanic we can talk about another day. And here’s a little bit of what Tobi has been working on, and trust me when I say holy shit.

And that’s it for the March round-up! As I’m writing this there’s a blizzard going on right now (oh Sweden), an excellent reminder that April is a capricious and unpredictable month, but we’re all excited to get to work this month. Until next time!
