The current version of Crater Song, which tells a full story, was developed over the course of several weeks for the NESMaker Byte-Off IV competition.
However, while making the game, I fell in love with the story and little corner of Orebody I was building. I also had a lot more ideas for mechanics I wasn't able to develop in time for the competition.
So, despite wanting to take a break from NESDev, I'm moving forward with an extended edition of Crater Song. The idea is to produce something, along with bonus game material, that can be released on a physical cartridge.
The game will also eventually be released here -- and I'll start charging for it.
So, in the mean time, enjoy the full early version of Crater Song for free.
