Update 0.0.0.8
This update meaningfully introduces save states to the desktop version, beginning a divergence between the web and desktop versions and nearing what I would consider a vertical slice of the game. After the next or next few updates I believe I will make separate pages for the main desktop version of the game, to give it the proper space and the quick web demo version of it.
This update also implements the new slime sprites and replaces the old borrowed skill icons for the new ones I got from asset packs! This means from now on the are no assets on the game I don't have the rights to, which I think is an important step in moving on from the prototype version and means the game will slowly begin to look more identifiable.
ps: I made a mistake in the new credits panel and will be uploading a quick fix during the weekend whenever I have the time
Features:
- Save states on the desktop version! the game will auto save after every factory turn and whenever you exit the application. The game cannot currently save in the middle of the fighting round and there might (probably?) still have a few bugs related to saving and loading, but none that I currently know of.
- Payment and bribe multipliers: the amount of money you receive from fights and the amount of money you pay in bribes now have multipliers that go up whenever you bet on fights or upgrade your machines. This is a new I'm testing to control the game's difficulty progression and balance the money you get in relation to the money you have to pay up.
- Regen mechanic: slimes now heal regularly during fights depending on a regen attribute.
- Tutorial library: all of the tutorial panels that can pop up can also be found all collected on a mini archive you can access through the exit menu. It currently looks very ugly.
- Time limit: fights that are taking to damn long will wrap up and rank the remaining slimes by the relative amount (in relation to max hp) of hp points they have left.
Changes:
- Slimes and their mood emotes are using the new sprites made by the artist Gustavo Melo.
- Skill icons sprites were also updated to use an asset pack.
- Game now begins on a makeshift title screen with no logo yet.
- The game's credits can also be found ingame accessed through wither the main title screen menu or the exit menu.
Fixes:
- Slots are no longer droping lower than the bottom limit on the battle's hp ranking.
- Slime sprites sorting issues seem to have been sorted.
- You can no longer click on the big toolbar button to advance the game when tutorial panels are open.
- The damage ranking after fights can no longer display decimal numbers.
Known Bugs:
- The "dead slimes" UI will sometimes open empty without any of your slimes having died.
