#Potatostrike #Patch Notes #Alpha
We interrupt your daily grub to bring you a new Potatostrike patch.
This second patch ended up being a lot bigger than initially anticipated. The main feature it brings is sound effects! From weapon gunfire to button beeps, to the last breath of a ship meeting its untimely doom in the cold vastness of space, there's sounds all over now!
Additionally, a few Quality of Life and balancing adjustments have been made, and most likely more will come later down the line. I'm on the lookout for feedback, so if you have anything you'd like to see now's your chance!
Here's a full list of patch notes:
Bugs:
- Fixed a bug in the inventory menu when selecting and deselecting weapons.
- Fixed a bug that would get the Potatostrike stuck in the borders of the game window.
- Fixed a bug that would despawn pickups dropped by enemies killed outside the screen.
Additions:
- Added sound effects throughout the game. Weapon sounds, explosions, button beeps, you name it!
- Added an engine flame effect to the Potatostrike.
- Added a visual effect when a ship's shield breaks.
- Added damaged models and damage smoke to ships.
- Added External Libraries and Sound creators to the Credits menu.
- Added a new Tutorial screen that can be accessed from the Main menu or the Pause menu.
- Added a new Borderless Fullscreen display setting on the Video options menu.
Changes:
- Changed the 37mm Cannon's UI icon and model coloring.
- Unequipped weapon UI icons are now darker.
- Improved text rendering at high resolutions.
- The player's main weapon projectiles are now created behind the player ship.
- The UI shield bar grays out entirely when shields are depleted.
- Ship shields become dimmer the more damage they take.
- Modified the way Audio sliders work. They should be easier to use now, especially with Controller and Keyboard.
Balancing:
- Increased the seeking arc of Level 1 Missiles from 20° up to 30°
- Increased the explosion range of Level 2 Bombs from 150 pixels up to 175 pixels.
- Increased the explosion range of Level 3 Bombs from 150 pixels up to 200 pixels.
