Chapter 5 Beta will be sent out via Kickstarter mail to the Full Beta Testers very soon! A direct download link with a short message will be attached, similar to when I sent out the previous beta chapters.
Chapter 5 Beta is not 100% perfect. Itβs about 85% polished.
Like the previous beta chapter, Chapter 5 is also not edited. I'll link the previous update here for more details.
A few backgrounds are missing that I didn't have time to make due to laptop issues. They will be replaced in later chapters before release.
Some sounds will need a volume adjustment. This will be fixed before release.
Due to a lack of GB space (on Google), older beta files will be removed. The current up-to-date file will be available.
Previously on Re:Memorize —
Cynthia has regained her memories and reunited with Haze. However, their reunion is cut short as the grim reality of their situation sets in. The real evil that threatens to abolish their peace rises once more...
Similar to the previous chapters, Chapter 5 contains some emotionally impactful moments, at least from my perspective. I won't spoil what was said, but every time I read it, it still surprises me that I was the one who wrote it.
Haze is one of those characters that I genuinely feel bad for. As a writer, it pains me to put him through hell. As the person who created him, he's like a manifestation of someone who I could've become...
Personally, I am a Cynthia x Haze shipper. I'm sorry, but their relationship means too much to me. Cynthia was the one who opened Haze's heart, so she meant a lot to him, even now.
Kaz and Haze had always had a complex relationship. Kaz wanted to get to know Haze better, but Haze had a very reserved mindset, making it difficult for Kaz to understand him. Still, whenever I see them together, it brings me joy.
Yuen's importance has peaked in the story. The question now is whether he and Cynthia can overcome the impending threat...
Chapter 6 has most of the sprites and art already drawn, unlike Chapter 5. And due to the chapter only being roughly half the size, it will take significantly less time to make.
I have informed my coder Jeff to start turning the script into code, and it should be ready before the month ends.
I'll be preparing as much material as possible for Chapter 6 in the meantime, but I will start with the coding first before drawing, hopefully to speed things up.
Editing with my editor Jin will also resume next month.
My job has stalled me. I wanted to get Chapter 5 finished last week, but I was called in to cover my co-worker who got sick.π
Time is of the essence, and with only 9 months and 4 chapters left, let's see if I can finish Re:M in time!
Once again, thank you so much for your continued support of Re:Memorize! More exciting updates coming soon!
