Update v1.2 - More bugs fixed and game balancing
Here I am again!
First of all, I want to thank you, as always, for your support and time spent playing Coop Catacombs. Thanks to your feedback and the statistics on games and deaths, it's been easy for me to identify the things that need a more balanced adjustment (those darn Flamming Orbs!) to make the playing experience more enjoyable.
So, I present to you a new update that fixes some bugs and introduces new items and mechanics for you to fully enjoy your visit to the Catacombs.
I'm preparing a big update, with many more magical objects, but in the meantime, here's this update:
UI Enhancements:
- Added four new words to use with messages, expanding communication options for players.
- Pop-up windows can now be closed with ENTER and SPACE, streamlining user interaction.
- Implemented a feature to show damage when players "crush" a monster, enhancing feedback and player satisfaction.
Gameplay Additions:
- Fire now may deal less damage to the player, adjusting gameplay dynamics and strategy.
- Players can now bump into water to extinguish fire, adding a new layer of interaction and strategy.
- Axes and Battle Axes can now cut trees, expanding environmental interaction.
- Players can now drop up to 9 items without moving their position, enhancing inventory management.
- Staff of Ice Beam now deals extra damage to fire monsters, enriching combat strategy.
- Staff of Electric Strike now damages every monster in line, amplifying its utility and strategic value.
- Added new potion: Water, introducing new gameplay mechanics.
- Added new shield: Glass Shield, expanding defensive options.
- Introduced a new, wider graveyard, enhancing the game's environment.
- Monsters that open discovered doors will now make sound, increasing realism and strategy.
- Some monsters leave different gas after being killed, diversifying environmental effects.
- Players can now reflect projectiles with the proper shield, adding depth to combat mechanics.
Balancing Fixes:
- Inventory size has been increased by 3 slots, from 16 to 19, improving player's carrying capacity.
- Monsters now have more chances to drop items, enhancing loot acquisition.
- Monsters with ranged attacks are now less aggressive and wait 2 more turns before attacking again, balancing combat difficulty.
- NPC Hallow now offers the same type of items, ensuring consistency in gameplay.
- Potion of Poison now deals 10 damage to the player, adjusting its impact on gameplay.
- Reduced hit points for spider-web, balancing its challenge.
Bug Fixes:
- Scroll of Magic Mapping is now faster, improving usability.
- Potion of Telepathy now works with Scroll of Magic Mapping, fixing compatibility issues.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when playing offline dungeon and the player dies, enhancing game stability.
- Players no longer run over tombstones, fixing an immersion-breaking issue.
- Monster Venus Flytrap no longer moves, correcting its behavior.
- Players can't move monsters into doors with the hammer, maintaining game integrity.
- Resized window when NPC Lethe speaks, improving UI consistency.
- Removed incorrect text_log if player picks up items with no space available, cleaning up feedback.
- Staff of Monster Creation now consumes charges, correcting its functionality.
- Fixed text typos, polishing the game's presentation.
