Big Patch, just in time for Ramadan 2024

Hello Toads!

Happy 2024! I’m quite happy to be back at Toadhouse Games after taking some time to have a baby! Baby is doing well, I’m doing well, and I’m excited to get back to game dev.

Today, “Good Lookin’ Home Cookin’: A CMC Vignette” got a long awaited patch, just in time for the start of Ramadan. Various details were addressed, including many brought to our attention by our community.

Some highlights are:

• fixed self voicing pronunciation, particularly for foods. They’ve been tested in all three OS assistive voices and should be correct. Hopefully now, every word is correctly said by the assistive voice.
• added some clarification for those who were confused by the POV swaps. Sprites now appear at the POV swaps to make it easier to follow who is speaking when.
• more SFX added. We wanted a lot of SFX for this game in particular, since there is a no music mode for those who don’t listen to secular music during Ramadan but still want to play our game during Ramadan. So we’ve added more!

I’m so proud of this game and I’m grateful for the opportunity to fine tune and polish it. As always, thank you so much for playing and for your feedback and support. Creating art and games is only 50% of the process - the other 50% is how people interact with it and take it into their lives. Without you, I couldn’t do what I love to do. Thank you.
