During our first week of prototyping we asked ourself these questions:
Which engine will we be using? A: We have chosen to use Unreal Engine 4 because companies prefer developers who know how to work with UE4 C++ rather than unity and because we like a little challenge. It's also easier for our artist to use.
Is our core mechanic fun? A: Need external opinions/ more testing
Does our camera viewpoint work with our game? A: Yes, you can clearly see everything happening and we still have depth in the game because the camera is slightly angled down.
Will our game be repetitive? A: We fully depend on the chaos factor of the game and trying to trick your friends to keep the game fun to play.
(end of questions)
During our first week we encountered some problems with seam stutter between blocks and setting up the intitial document and making it work for everyone.
What went well was the good communication between the teammembers who were always there when you needed them.
Next week we are planning to add more powerups and environmental hazards.
