v0.4.2 Update

Y2K Directive (14 days demo)
A browser game made in HTML5

Hello to you all!

First of all, I would like to thank each and every one of you, who played through the first version of demo for Y2K Directive, whether you came from Reddit (NCD - you know who you are!), my Twitter/X, or just stumbled upon my game randomly. Special thanks for everyone who submitted their feedback, and wishlisted the full game on Steam.

Now, with the marketing stuff out from the way, we can discuss the state of the demo. My main concern was getting it on Steam. There are some hoops to jump through before that happens however, so I've decided to publish it here, so you can get your hands on it.

As I said earlier, there was a lot of harsh but constructive criticism, which I'm glad for. I'm working on stabilizing the state of the demo, and implementation of new features. What makes me most happy, is that box selection now works in paused mode. It's a small change but will go a long way in improving the gameplay.

Here's detailed list of what has changed

New features:
- Menu and in-game music
- Audio controls in options menu
- Credits page
- Steam store link in main menu

Improvements:
- Any pop-up window can now be closed by pressing Escape key

Bugfixes:
- Drag and drop selection now works in paused mode
- Fixed a typo in enemy name
- Fixed close button being hidden in Daily Report pop-up
- Links to Steam store and feedback survey now work in WebGL build

I don't really like to write long posts, I'd rather go back to work. There is a ton of features and fixes on my TODO list.

I'll post an update once Steam demo becomes available, so if you prefer to play there You'll be able to.

Until then - Bye!

Damian.
