Progress Update 3/05

Captain Chinstrap and the Lost Loot
A downloadable game for Windows

After weeks of background and prep work, we have started to create second drafts of many parts of the project. With our finalized Captain Chinstrap turnaround sheet, and many Npc character art concepts done, the animators can begin their work Our animators, having split up the total animations between both main locations, have begun first drafts.

Background art was given more detailed line work, and then split between  four team members. The goal for this sprint is to have base coloring done on each background. These are currently being revised so that the individual shapes are clean, as there are no outlines and line work in our final drafts. Then, each of these finished backgrounds will be reviewed and handed off to add shading and more lighting. This way all the environment will feel cohesive.

Inventory Item art is currently being moved from sketchbooks to digital forms. One set has undergone critique and the other is making steady progress.

The game’s programming is mostly complete. We are waiting to complete a few more drafts of our art assets to then use as placeholders for testing.

Sound is also coming along. Many sound effects such as water splashing, wood creaking, frogs croaking, and a trumpet win sound have been collected. We are still deciding what to do for island themes and for cutscene music.
