Following an assortment of feedback from alpha testers v0.2.3 includes a raft of changes including : difficulty adjustments; core gameplay mechanics like the jump; various look 'n' feel changes; some level design tweaks; and some UI and bug fixes.
The complete list of changes includes:
- [Difficulty] Ghost starts waiting after nudging Player in EASY mode.
- [Difficulty] Ghost now nudges rather than kills Player in NORMAL mode.
- [Difficulty] Clock now partially resets after death in EASY and NORMAL modes.
- [Difficulty] Level resets rather than restarts after death in HARD mode.
- [GamePlay] Reduce player collision box with floor to reduce head-banging unicorn syndrome, and added player collision box for pickups.
- [GamePlay] Added spawn relief against balls, bubbles, and wolves.
- [GamePlay] Increased sensitivity for trapped platforms.
- [GamePlay] Bubbles now always bounce when hitting one-way-platforms.
- [Look & Feel] Changed frame timing for jump animation.
- [Look & Feel] Added missing tail pixels to Cornelia idle frame 4.
- [Look & Feel] Added sparkle particles to Gems to increase desirability.
- [Look & Feel] Added wobble effect and glimmer SFX when player approaches gem.
- [Look & Feel] Added suction particles to Exit Door.
- [Look & Feel] Made trapped platforms more visually distinct.
- [Level Design] Level 1-4 fixed jump over Ghost.
- [Level Design] Level 1-7 reduced chance of missing lower gems.
- [Level Design] Level 1-7 swapped central spikes for 1-way platforms.
- [Level Design] Level 1-13 fixed weird top jump.
- [UI] ESC key opens pause menu when in-game, to allow exiting game without knowing pause key.
- [Bug] Removed Ghost Mexican stand-off after colliding with Player.
- [Bug] Player no longer pushes wolf through floor.
- [Bug] Player no longer pushes balls through floor.
- [Bug] Fixed PS5 controller speeding through spinboxes in options.
- [Bug] Fixed controller disallowing CRT on to be reset after max.
- [Bug] Rainbow extra life award being cut short.
- [Bug] Removed Choose level greedy signal connections.
- [Refactor] Ripped out custom collision code for area-based entity collisions.
