Trappist is now available on Steam!
If you buy (or bought) Trappist here, you’ll receive a Steam key. The Download page now shows a button to claim your key:
If you bought Trappist without an Itch.io account, the download link is in your purchase email. Check here if you can’t find that e-mail.
Steam offers regional pricing, so that might be the cheapest option for you. The regional price is set by Steam’s algorithms. Let me know if that leads to unreasonable prices.
Both the Itch.io and Steam versions are DRM-free and updates will appear on both stores.
Thank you all for your support! Itch.io is an amazing place to release your games. Steam has the greater commercial reach. So I want to peek over that fence. But Itch.io is such a friendly place which I’ll continue to support.
The achievements and game saves are compatible between the Itch.io and Steam versions (and Windows/Linux/macOS)!
Normally, both the Steam and Itch.io versions look for the save games in the same location and you can just continue playing.
If you play through the Itch app and have enabled the sandbox, the savegames are stored under a different account, for example:
C:\Users\itch-player-62e463d2\AppData\LocalLow\Sirrah\Trappist
You can manually copy all the files in that folder to your own account:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\Sirrah\Trappist
If you have trouble finding your savegames, the Load screen has a tooltip for each savegame with the exact file location.
