Ferarum
A downloadable game for Windows

6 months really comes and goes huh?

I hope you've all been well since, statistically, at least one of you died waiting for this update. Don't feel sad about them, they don't have to pay taxes anymore. So what's new?

Well, a bunch of CG's (some lewder ones this time), enough dialogue to make a Higurashi fan laugh, several more secrets and god knows what else, it's been 6 months I've forgotten half the shit I put in this game. To make DD55's deadline you might notice several dips in qualities, incomplete CG's, possible bugs, missing teased characters and 3/4 of the dialogue is through a cardboard cut out. Will this bother you? Probably. Does it bother me? Absolutely. But I made a promise to myself that I would get it out by today so here we are. So what gives? What happened?

To keep it brief; I got a job at some point, became an uncle, was involved in a car accident and had to plan an overseas trip. Life got in the way of Ferarum, ironically. I'll also like to go over a small brief of what Ferarum really was (at some point) which might also explain the long wait.

Now I'm not a writer, not a good programmer, my art skills are dog doodies and I can't compose a triangle. When I began developing this game, it was a recycle of a recycle of another recycle of an animated project tied to a YouTube channel full of Jojo content I haven't the heart to link. On a whim, I drew up a funny little mockup of Jojo in a cafe with some visual novel dialogue, and on another whim, downloaded Renpy.

Ferarum was only supposed to be a funny short little game that finished right after the cafe with you in bed with Jojo. When I decided to focus on the game rather than the series, it came with a lot of baggage. Stories that needed to be told, elaborated on, introduced, etc. Around the time the looping hall came out (version 8?) I was narratively confused. Pretty damn sure I wrote myself into a corner several times and it would take days to figure it out and make it make sense. I'm happy to say that won't be a problem going forward but that still doesn't mean updates will come out faster (but not wait 6 fucking months anymore between them, Jesus I'm so sorry).

Blah blah blah, basically I'm still doing Ferarum. Still working on it. It's taking a bit more time to do CG's now but not big whoop. I refuse to stop working on this until the story is complete. For now, please enjoy version 13's preview-build.
