News about version 0.5!

Broken Dreams
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

Hello!

It's been a while since the last update of Broken Dreams, and I hope all the effort put in over these months will pay off for what's to come.

I'm pleased to announce that Broken Dreams version 0.5 is in its final stages of development, requiring only translation, editing, and final testing to ensure everything runs smoothly. This shouldn't take long. Moving forward, I'll be sharing more updates about the development. I dislike the silence between the game and the community. It's been tough to see how my ideas needed much more time than initially thought, constantly delaying the release of new content has been quite bothersome. But putting that aside, I'm incredibly proud of all the work behind this update.

Putting things into perspective...

Broken Dreams currently boasts a total of 3950 images (Including version 0.5), while version 0.4 only had 1872. That means 2072 images were created solely for the new version! But that's not all. Ten new backgrounds were crafted using Blender, surpassing all previous visual quality standards in my opinion. As you know, environments in Broken Dreams play a crucial role, adding or removing elements according to the plot's development. Broken Dreams isn't a static game; it feels alive, requiring special attention to details that enhance immersion.

The future is now...

To save time, I've had to resort to implementing new techniques for content creation, one of which is using artificial intelligence. Some backgrounds that will be used only once were created with the help of AI, saving me a lot of time in the process and allowing me to focus on what really matters: the story.

Speaking of the story...

The new update totals 30k words! and when adding all the sequences, animations, and transitions, it amounts to around 3 to 4 hours of gameplay (depending on your reading speed). The story has always been the most important aspect of Broken Dreams and also the reason for many delays. I'll always strive to create a clear and exciting story, with special care given to presenting villains, new characters, or events that forever alter the course of the story. That's why I had to make various changes that resulted in such a large final product. But I'm very pleased with the outcome, and I hope you'll also feel the same emotions I had while creating the game. It's been a journey filled with anger, sadness, pain, and tears, but above all... lots of happiness and fun.

In conclusion...

I deeply regret the lack of information about this new update. I've learned a lot in recent months, and I want to focus my energy on building a great community because I know Broken Dreams deserves it. My new goal is to update all my platforms with new information: Itch.io, Patreon, and Discord.

I also invite everyone who wants to receive immediate information about the game to join our Discord server. I've posted many images during this time that will be in the new version, and if you haven't seen them yet, here they are:

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Thank you very much to everyone supporting this project. Without you, none of this would be possible, and my only request is that you keep believing. This game is my biggest dream, and I've given my all to make it come true. I will never disappoint you. I could say many more things, but I prefer to let my work speak for itself, and you'll see that very soon. I created Broken Dreams 2 :p

Thank you all!
