v.0.9.7 -
v.0.9.7 is a pretty significant update with a few new features and gameplay improvements. This update makes the game a lot more fun and adds further dimensionality to the game play.
- Bug Fix: I fixed the points displayed in the tutorial for the depth charges, it said 150 but should have been 250
- New Enemy: Introducing Bad Caps, these little critters swim in schools that grow in size as you progress through the game.
- Balance: I re-wrote the Syloid spawning, previously they spawned every 30 seconds, now it is a little less predictable and they occur a little less frequently.
- Added Power Ups!
- Z Up is a powerful sleep restorative that puts the captain back to sleep 100%
- Multi-Torpedo allows you to shoot 3 torpedoes at once for a total of 12 on screen torpedoes! It lasts for 60 seconds and stacks time if you get the power up while you still have it active.
- Shield - Shield allows you to take 1 impact without disturbing the captain's sleep. I decided that for now the player will start with the shield so it gives them a "free" first impact on an obstacle.
- Balance: Adjusted the depth charge spawning offset so that the game was more engaging at max speed while also not allowing any safe places to park the submarine.
