I'm pleased to announce that Alpha 3 is now available.
A lot of code tidy up has allowed me to improve the player experience. For instance, potential actions now preview visually. I'm hoping this makes building fences a lot easier now.
Talking of fences, as requested gates now align vertically if constructed in a vertical fence run. You can finally enclose spaces completely without needing an axe to break out. And because zombies were breaking through far too quickly, I've nerfed their attack.
Overall, I've being looking for ways to add gameplay that extends play time.
Finally, in this version I've experimented with swapping the mouse button actions and the mouse wheel direction for cycling through inventory items. My hope is that this feels more natural. I'm also hopeful that I'll be able to amalgamate the "use inventory" and "interact with environment" actions into a single action, at least most of the time. For Alpha 4 I'll keep the focus on extending play time, as well as addressing some longer standing requests (e.g. indicate when damaged) and bug (e.g. the menus being very glitchy).
