Hello! Thank you, everyone, for the massive amount of support I’ve been getting lately- it means the world to me to get to share this visual novel with all of you. I’m extremely excited to continue to work on this, and develop something special for everyone to enjoy.
Currently, my goal is to make some finishing touches on Case 001, Waiting for Death in a Languid Apartment Building. My reasoning being that I’d like to ensure I have absolutely no reservations about it when the time comes to put it to the side to work on the subsequent cases. As far is that’s concerned, the vast majority of it is done, do I think by the time my next biweekly Devlog rolls around, it’ll be in a state where Case 002, Caught in the Nightmares of those who Cannot Distinguish Reality from Fiction, can be my focus.
I’ll briefly go over what I’ve done in bulletpoint-form, and then delve a bit deeper into some of them.
I think the “most important” change, if I had to choose one, would either be the newly-implemented Settings Menu, or the updated character sprites for Chive, RJ, and Mischef. While the Settings Menu is probably the most significant from an objective standpoint (thank you, by the way, user-who-suggested-it!) I still can’t deny that it feels good to not have to cringe at my year-old-sprites whenever Chive or RJ make their way on-screen.
As for the rewrites and fixing typos, a lot of that was spawned from watching a truly wonderful group play my VN- you know who you are. That helped me find even more mistakes in the spelling/formatting, as well as notice some scenes that are either a bit unclear, weirdly-worded, or that just came across differently than in my head.
Like the previous section, I’ll quickly list off what I want to do in Case 1 before moving on entirely to the next one.
As you can probably tell, this is entirely about remaking some old, less-than-stellar artwork. As I mentioned before, it was nice to not have to wince whenever Chive or RJ stepped into view, but I still need to fix that with Herb and Shallot. Of course, this isn’t the be-all and end-all of what I might change in Case 1 before next time, but as of now, that’s all I have my docket. If anything comes up, though, it’ll certainly wind up on the next Devlog.
Speaking of the next Devlog, I’ll see you there with (hopefully) Case 1 done-and-dusted to my specifications. In the meantime, you’re able to play my VN with the changes I’ve listed above. This version IS COMPATIBLE with all save files, so there should be no issues running this version, even if you have a save file partially-through the case. And with that, I will give you a sneak peek as to the upcoming changes and then take my leave. See you next time!
