It took me a few more dozen hours but I finally completed it.
I will soon post some tech info about the most recent development.
Game engine was rewritten almost entirely as I noticed that the original game 'cheated' quite a lot with collision checking whereas I had initially written the collisions part to be more precise.
The same happened with the Fireballs objects as I notied that the original ones where somehow 'hunting' the player so I introduced some modifiers to make them climb ladder more efficiently when pursuing the player.
