Current state of development and major changes

Hello friends, here we are 3 years after the initial upload and one year cancer-free for me. I haven't forgotten about my passion project, but I have decided that some major changes need to happen for this to work.

Over the past few years, my narrative style has changed quite a lot and I recently realized that I am not entirely pleased with the way I planned out the plot, characters, and climax points of the story. I am currently outlining the revamped plot after making certain changes to some characters (I'm not telling who yet). However, this means that I am starting from 0 with Marked for Ruin. This was after all the very first draft, and I know I can do much better in terms of storytelling.

A few of the things that I have planned for the future (mostly in chronological order) that you can expect:

• A few short stories set during the Civil War and shortly after for more background information.
• A World Anvil page where I'll have all the lore near and in one place.
• The remake of Marked for Ruin. This remake will end up being smaller than what was originally planned. A 3 act story with choices, meant to shape the characters and the world.
• A direct follow-up to Marked for Ruin. A very ambitious project on my end, with a custom(ish) player character and a lot more narrative freedom given to the player. My aim is to make this as close as possible to a silent protagonist RPG.

"Ok, that's cool and all. But what happens to this project?" In the upcoming days, it will be marked as canceled. I will not be deleting it, as I have learned a lot from it. If there is any interest, I will also be uploading the unreleased version I have in its very alpha stage (no visuals, just dialogue).
