This is a short article on the changes to trade and ultimatum, and diplomacy points (DP) will be broken down in a bit more detail.
About Diplomacy Points. DP are required for any diplomatic action with another country, except signing a peace. DP are renewed every turn, their maximum depends on the number of embassies built and their level.
The main and most important change in both diplomatic actions is demanding more than 1 province. Previously you could request one region at a time, now the restriction has been removed and you can request any provinces you want. The vassalization and money requirements remain unchanged. In version 0.8.6, after the addition of DP, trade and ultimatum will require 1 DP at a time and will be removed when you press action, in case of insufficient DP, trade and ultimatum windows will not open. The chance of ultimatum will depend on how much stronger you are than the other country, and the chance of trade will depend not only on your strength but also on your relationship with the country.
