Normal Fishing Begins

Normal Fishing
A downloadable game

After months of effort, I'm proud to present the demo for my experimental horror game. It's about fishing... but then again, perhaps it really isn't. You'll have to find out for yourself.

The idea behind this project was to create something that presents itself as a cosy and lighthearted - albeit action focused - adventure, but hides many deeper, darker secrets beneath the surface. Horror is a major passion of mine, but often I find that horror games tend to focus their gameplay on navigating dark places and encountering jumpscares (which is fine, but I wanted to do something a little different). With Normal Fishing, my aim is to first create a fun game that's enjoyable and rewarding to play in its own right before horror elements are even considered, and I think the reasoning for this becomes clear in the demo. That is, if you manage to reach the end...

I initially started working on the game alone to produce a basic prototype, but after being awarded government funding by the UK Games Fund, I've been able to expand the team by bringing in the incredible talent at dBXY for the sound and music, and Laura - an amazing artist - to help bring my frankly poor pixel art to life in far more impressive ways than I ever could!

I'm incredibly proud of what we've managed to create together so far, and I'm looking forward to bringing you the rest of the game -  believe me, there's a lot more to come! But for now, why not download the demo, dive in, and experience the world of Normal Fishing?

Much love,
The Bworg
