Runecycle is now at the state I no longer call this an alpha build. We are in development proper and the game is likely to finish with these themes and ideas. Hence the new numbering system.
Everything changed when the four Signs attacked. In this new edition there are "ability scores" but they are very non-traditional. Instead of select number of skills, the four Signs represent abstract concepts of the cosmos and you get to use Tags to define what they mean to you.
All Runic Powers have been arranged to 12 Aspects. These "characters" are personifications of concepts, helping you create characters easier. The game is still feat-based, so you shouldn't need to focus on a single Aspect; They are not classes and do not work as such.

Runecycle has switched to the step-dice variant of the Year Zero Engine. This system will streamline rolling and combat.
New adventure generation tables are in! Use these to help you come up with adventures in the cycle.
The first steps of a small example setting are setting in. Instead of a highly detailed world, Runecycle will provide you with a small land area with 12 different eras from the cycle for easy stories about reincarnation.
