Time has passed since the beginning of the project, when it was a small game made for my cousins and a prototype for testing various aspects of RTS programming, for the sake of curiosity and entertainment. Then It went through many development phases and long pauses of abandonment until it was finally rebuilt as a whole game.
The main gameplay loop was set around base building, crafting, population management, conquest and subterfuge. Early game is focused on exploration and discovering enemy locations. Mid game is when you develop your dungeon, produce weapons, train an army, discover spells and technologies. Then late game will be filled with high level creatures, powerful spells and rituals, traps and spies. The goal is to defeat the enemy king, by any mean necessary. Beside the RTS aspect, you can also directly control your king or any of your creature and use their special abilities to disrupt your opponent.
Digging dungeons, training creatures and wreaking havoc into friends dungeons was too much fun to be left unshared. So it is how came Erdluitl, a Dungeon Keeper inspired RTS.
